Top 5 Fashion Trends for Spring 2019

It’s officially springs! Time to put away those winter coats and break out your spring wardrobe! Here are my Top 5 Spring Fashion Trends straight from the runway along with some ways to incorporate them in your everyday attire!

  1. Polka Dots

Dolce Gabbana’s Spring 2019 line was full of colors and prints including polka dots. Monica Bellucci, who has been the face of Dolce Gabbana for many years, strutted down the runway in a black and white polka dot midi dress.

Now let’s look at some ways you can incorporate polka dots into your spring wardrobe!

I am wearing a navy blue and white polka dot long sleeve dress from Missguided. This dress is perfect for spring as it has long sleeves. It is made out of light cotton fabric making it the ideal outfit for any spring day. The fit and the ruffles on the chest add a touch of femininity to the dress making this a flirty and fun piece.

The polka dot trend can also be worn around the office to dazzle up your work attire. Check out how J.Crew has styled a polka dot pencil skirt with a simple black top. For those of you who don’t feel as bold but still want to stay on-trend, a polka dot scarf may be your answer! The scarf below is from Lulus and can be worn tied around your neck or around the handle on your purse.

2. Python Print and Animal Print

Animal print, specifically python print, has been extremely popular throughout the winter and this trend will continue through spring. Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Celine Dion have all been photographed wearing this print!

Snakeskin print accessories are also very popular and make any simple outfit pop. I paired my Michael Kors python Miranda handbag with a pair of skinny jeans and black suede open-toe booties.

The snakeskin print Superga sneakers look very stylish with denim or with a feminine dress like the one I am wearing in the picture below. These sneakers are the perfect shoe for walking around the city in the spring because they are very comfortable and also trendy.

Cheetah print has also been on the runways again in the spring. I have featured some examples of how J.Crew and Dolce Gabbana have both used cheetah print in their Spring 2019 looks. Cheetah print is seen in apparel as well as shoes and handbags. I paired my J.Crew cheetah sweatshirt with a pair of jeans for a fashionable weekend look.

3. Neutrals

Beige on beige on beige! Many designers have included these monochrome neutral looks in their spring 2019 line. Designers such as Burberry, Ferragamo, and Max Mara have all embraced this trend.

A beige trench is a classic staple for the spring and I’m sure many of you already own one. (If you don’t I would consider investing in one!) The trench I am wearing in the picture below is from Club Monaco. It is made from a light and soft material so it’s perfect for spring and also fall.

4. Paisley Floral

“Floral? For spring? Groundbreaking”.  This spring, floral print was spotted all over the runways with a twist. The floral print that designers have chosen this year is a paisley flower print instead of our more traditional print. This paisley print has the appearance of a print that you would find in a bandana or handkerchief.

This trend is very easy to wear and can be a spring staple to wear to the office as well as during the weekend. Check out how J.Crew has used this trend throughout their spring line. I love how they combined this trend along with mules, a very popular shoe that is perfect for the spring.

5. Fringe

One of the spring fashion trends is fringe and feathers. Colorful feathers and fringe have been seen all over the runways. Check out these fringe looks straight from the Tom Ford and Gucci runways.

Fringe can easily be worn in a casual look and it can also add a boho-chic vibe to any sweater. I have featured a fringe sweater from Free People that can be paired with a pair of pants or shorts for those chilly spring days or summer nights. This sweater can be purchased from Nordstrom!

Fringe can also be worn around the office by incorporating it in a cardigan or a blazer. Check out how adding fringe to a blazer can make it fun and yet professional. This blazer can be purchased from Nordstrom.

Fringe can also be added to a cardigan to make it fun and flirty. I have paired this super feminine blush pink cardigan from Club Monaco with a pair of white skinny jeans and a white cotton tank top. This outfit is perfect to wear to brunch with the girls or on a casual Friday around the office.
